Publisher iMel and developers elf and DiGination will release romance visual novel Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer CSver for PlayStation 4 and Switch on April 18, 2024 in Japan for 5,400 yen, the companies announced. It will be distributed by the new brand DG REMAKE.
A limited edition will also be available for 8,400 yen, which includes a visual fan book, theme song full version CD, and an acrylic stand.
Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer first launched on February 26, 2021 in Japan under the title Dokyusei Remake. As the title suggests, it is a remake of the visual novel first released by developer elf in 1992. An English version was released for PC via Steam and Johren on March 11, 2022.
The visual novel’s key features include:
- All CG and Voice-Overs Redone – Portraits, event CGs, and key animations have been changed to newly drawn illustrations by Kohaku Sumeragi. Some background characters have been redrawn by a separate artist. Elements such as the map screen and user interface have also been refined for the high-definition screen size. All voice-overs have also been recorded anew.
- Console-Exclusive CG – Additional CG have been created specifically for the console version. New text has also been added, and new event scenes have been added for all characters. Please look forward to new scenes you can only enjoy in Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer CSver.
- Easy Mode – Easy Mode is the default mode of the remake. In this mode, you can check where each heroine is located on the map, as well as a list of flags. You can also jump straight to events, making it easier than ever to clear the game. (Classic Mode is also available.)
The announcement makes no mention of whether the game will support English as a language option, so it likely will not as multiple language support is usually noted as a key feature for visual novel ports.
